David was born in Glasgow and grew up there and in the Highlands of Scotland. He trained at Webber-Douglas in London. As an actor David appeared at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow; in rep seasons and on tour he has played virtually every theatre in Scotland. He has toured the UK extensively and played the lead role of the detective in the West End production of Agatha Christie's 'The Mousetrap'.

On television has appeared as Gary Knox in 'Coronation Street' and Chic in 'Take the High Road' and Iphigenia At Aulis for BBC.

As a voice-over David can be heard advertising the Daily Mail, Halifax, Bank of Scotland, AA, Burberry, Virgin Music, Renault, Microsoft and Virgin.

David has also narrated for companies as diverse as the BBC, Financial Services Authority, Channel Tunnel Rail Link project, BP, Whyte & McKay and Hewlett Packard.

David has his own ISDN studio and can be heard on local radio up and down the country.
